I see this thread title all the time, but for some reason I just read it as "food poisoning dominoes". Not a game I'd like to play  !

Yeah, that'd be far too easy a game since undercooked chicken would be the start and end in just one post ;)

Goat's cheese on the other hand benefits from a spot of red currant or cranberry jam.

Balsamic used to finish flash fried calves liver slices and onions

Works well with chicken or turkey livers too

flageolets being played in a folk club while drinking a pint and eating crisps.
(or if you're a game purist, the bean version in a casserole that includes carrots).
take your pick.

I haven’t been able to get flageolets recently, Morrison’s have stopped selling the d’aucy cans and I haven’t seen any dried for ages. Will try Waitrose sometime

But, carrots, essential in coleslaw - which I probably should call kohlslaw as I usually make it with kohlrabi

Kohlrabi pairs well with carrot, e.g. grated plus egg for fritters, or kholrabi, carrot, fennel soup:

Ok, back to carrots

I’ll be kinder this time carrots pair well with orange in a North African salad, a carrot cake or the carrot & orange baby food the French are obsessed with
