On BBC's Saturday Kitchen Adam Byatt, did Sardine bolognese.
It contained the follow plus other items.
1 garlic clove, roughly chopped
1 bay leaf
2 tsp soy sauce
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
200ml/7fl oz red wine
200ml/7fl oz passata or chopped tomatoes from a tin
500ml/18fl oz chicken stock
400g/14oz dried spaghetti
Take your pick!

Re: "Food Pairings Dominoes"
sourdough toast spread with lashings of butter and chunky, homemade, seville orange marmalade.
Re: "Food Pairings Dominoes"
Can I go with marmalade, as I'm not aware that Seville oranges are used for anything else? (I'll stand corrected of course.) If so, marmalade and ginger (plus other spices) upside down pudding, per:
https://www.deliciousmagazine.co.uk/rec ... n-pudding/
So ginger, but can I stretch the rules again and extend it to stem ginger as I just happen to have a jar.
If not allowed *slaps wrist* the domino remains as Seville oranges
