Saturday Kitchen
I shall be watching Saturday Kitchen on Saturday morning which will be hosted by Sabrina Ghayour, Michel Roux Jnr. and Glynn Purcell. I'm sure that we'll be seeing some lovely Persian or Middle Eastern food. If you can't watch, it will be available on BBC iPlayer.

I've rather neglected the programme since James Martin left.

I tend to have it on in the back ground
I follow Sabrina on Twitter, she’s a bit frenetic. Trouble is not all her recipes seem to work as written

Oh dear! I did join Twitter but soon left because I was bombarded with emails from them. I suppose that I could have changed the notifications.

Re: Saturday Kitchen
I set Twitter to emails only for account admin and Facebook for as few emails as it will allow. Cuts down the spam
I really don’t see the point in having an email just after a notification bubble has popped up on my screen!
I follow a few foodies, and now my Twitter ads seem to be for catering supplies

Re: Saturday Kitchen
The last time I put SK on, I cringed at Harry Hill.
Its' all very well not liking a dish, but there are politer ways of doing it than he did.
Sabrina, I cannot watch.
When I blogged, I couldn't get away from the woman. Emails, updates, self promotion, every little internet post I was bombarded with messages.
I chose to block her.
Good luck to her, but I couldn't stand her full-of-herself approach.
Renee, I shall not be tuning in I'm afraid.

Re: Saturday Kitchen
I notice she gets a decreasing number of responses to her endless selfies. A 42 year old woman who posts a photo every time she goes out in a new frock. But people who have eaten her food say it’s good. Which is the point I supose
Re: Saturday Kitchen
I've gone right off her now, but I do have her book, so will concentrate on that! I will enjoy the recipes.

Sorry, Renee.
I'm not a twitter user, so don't see her new dresses, Sue. Phew!
Enjoy her book, Renee. I believe she cannot demand your attentions via a hardback copy.

At the risk of interfering, I'm wondering what it is that Stokey Sue finds doesn't work about Sabrina's recipes. Might be good to know before they're tried. Just thinking out loud is all.

Re: Saturday Kitchen
Different problems with different recipes but particularly over optimistic cooking times.
Her lamb kofta roll recipe in Feasts, for example, is a good idea. You flavour lamb mince as if making kebabs / meatballs. Then wrap in puff pastry and bake like a giant sausage roll. But I think the lamb could be a bit more spiced personally, and several people who have tried it (me included) have found that cooking time and temperature don’t work, leaving you with undercooked soggy pastry
Some of the recipes in Persiana are very good, but my overall impression is that she is genuinely very good at coming up with creative ideas, less good at execution, and no good at all at quality control.
