Musee d’Orsay, wonderful place, had a lovely lunch and took photos from roof terrace.
Mona Lisa, if the crowds get in the way, have a look at the paintings on the left hand wall (as you look at it) superb and more interesting than ML.
Sue, I understand why the Courtauld stuff had been moved, but charging to see it is against the spirit of art being available to all. Still can't understand why we didn't pop over to the Crypt, eaten there a few times over the years. Ah well ...
By chance I’ve caught up with some art programmes saved in the summer, one about Manet. At the time he wasn’t considered an Impressionist as he didn’t join the group and didn’t exhibit at their shows. Also, claimed he was the founder of modern art - nah mate, that was Turner.
Gill, you can pick up similar close to you, the latest M5 Services.
Kula café has plenty of savoury stuff as well.

Re: CHATTERBOX
Pure luck. Up to a couple of years ago I much preferred to take photos using a small Sony camera with a view finder. For convenience, like most, now it's a phone. The sun on that day was behind me and bright - couldn't see what I was shooting - just pointed the phone and clicked, hence the skyline goes downhill a bit.

Re: CHATTERBOX
I think the NG has to charge for nearly all temporary / special exhibitions to cover the cost of staging them, they made a load of redundancies a bout 2 years ago because they couldn’t afford to pay the salaries, including my neighbour - who has gone on to great things running vintage and craft fairs

I didn't manage (couldn't manage) a cake shop this time, but thanks Dennis.
I've come home so fuuuuuuuuuuulll.
Even just carrying a banana with me for lunch. Somebody pop me, the food's too good in London. Back to normal now.
My personal trainer is going to work me harder today, when he sees me.
What have I missed ......................

My first round of baking is done. Two trays of honey-marzipan macaroons are cooling.
The last few, half a tray got burnt. Typical. Ah well.

I agree, Renee.
And Tony always goes for the well fired option. He cannot stand that blond look in baking.
Which makes me cook things just that little bit longer.

Thank you ladies!
Meat grinder biscuits today (my meat grinder hasn't seen any meat in its entire life, it is purely a biscuit grinder).

I’m glad I can’t!!! I’d be eating all day
Re: CHATTERBOX
I have caramellised one tray full of marzipan Spritz biscuits, but since most people prefer them well done it's not a problem. The rest is medium and all await a chocolate shower.
The orange biscuits are done already and don't need anything done to them. They turned out perfectly.

It occurred to me that as I’m having some eye treatments my handwriting may be more than usually awful, so I’ve started doing a set of address labels I can print out
