Good news Amy. Onwards and upwards - with caution until you recover.

Wic, here's a thread on OS13, it's more about the phone, but it does mention iPad as well as lefthandness!

Re: CHATTERBOX
The thing is that for version 13 they’ve now separated iOS and iPadOS into two different systems
One of the main advantages is supposed to be that iPadOS will make better use of the bigger screen, but apart from a good Dark Mode I see no sign of it so far.

Re: CHATTERBOX
Glad you're back home Amy - but do take it easy until you're fully recovered - this sort of things takes more out of you than you realise, especially as you're on heavy duty painkillers. And (relatively) good news too about the diagnosis. Did they do anything about the cyst or will there be more treatment in the future?
Re: CHATTERBOX
Amyw, being home is good, much less stressful than hospital. You'll probably want to sleep a lot, something I reckon one's body needs so it can sort itself out without interference from brain and movement.
I think tramadol makes one less than alert, so definitely no sharp knives and chopping onions for a while!
Have you got any new instructions re diet restrictions like gluten?

Glad to hear you're home Amy
Careful doing anything while on Tramadol - when I had to take it, it really spaced me out.

Re: CHATTERBOX
Oh dear - I must have a very high tolerance to drugs - I'm on 8 Tramadol a day and it doesn't have an effect other than reducing pain (or maybe I'm a high-functioning addict!).

I'm so pleased that you're back home Amy. It's so much more comfortable than being in hospital.

Back again, having spent most of the day in various waiting rooms. In my day, she said, in curmudgeonly fashion, we didn’t allow appointments get so far behind.
Thank you for that site, Petronius, it looks really good. I don’t care for the Apple forums, they always seem to assume you know a lot more than you do - I find my way round devices by Guess and by God, I think. That forum looks much more user friendly.
I seem to have sorted most of the problems I was having, but the email is still sending me two copies of each mail and the keyboard seems to have become much more sensitive, so moving the cursor tends to highlight chunks when it’s not necessary. I suppose if everything went swimmingly life wouldn’t be so interesting ...

Re: CHATTERBOX
Wic, you sound the same as me, though I do have a couple of friends who know thei way around. I've asked the most simple question on there and been treated with respect. The guy who runs it uses his own servers - his business ones - and now asks for a voluntary contribution once a year, but without any pressure.
Re: CHATTERBOX
In quite a bit of pain and not much appetite , but getting there . Staying at my mums at the moment , though still better than being at hospital .
Re the diet , I’m going to slowly re introduce gluten back into my diet as only cut it out because I thought I had endo . Still staying pescatarian though I think

Re: CHATTERBOX
Oh good Amy! I'm glad that you're staying with your mum and you're not on your own. She will be taking good care of you.
Re: CHATTERBOX
OH was put on Tramadol, but like Luscious it wasn't good for her, had Oramoth(?) liquid morphine instead. Was sent home with a bottle of the stuff and GP was prepared to prescribe as much as she wanted. Slept well then, sometimes she wishes she had kept some back.
Re: CHATTERBOX
This year my OH has been through all sorts of combinations of painkillers after a particularly extensive op on his leg. They started with Codeine, which they were really keen for him to have but it made him very ill. Paracetamol did nothing for the pain and eventually they gave him Oramorph, which knocked him out for a few days and then he got used to it. The optimum, for him, is Oramorph and paracetamol, one for the pain and the other to reduce inflammation. I think everyone reacts differently, so it’s a case of trial and error.
We know someone who broke most of his big bones in an accident, who happily survives on two Tramadol a day and someone else who took one and had hallucinations. It’s all a bit of a lottery, isn’t it.

Re: CHATTERBOX
Indeed Wic, but at least modern doctors are prepared to listen to patients and use the different medications now available to them.
Re: CHATTERBOX
I’ve had Oramorph on and off and it’s great stuff , a much cleaner painkiller than Tramadol. To be fair the tramadol I had was fine as I was bracing myself for the worst but everyone does react differently. I just think Tramadol is a drug where the bad side effects are a bit more common and severe than most
Re: CHATTERBOX
i had a tramadol a couple of years ago - it did absolutely nothing so i didn't see the point in continuing. cocodamol was more effective.
