Happy Easter Holiday Weekend To All, :thumbsup :thumbsup

It is 17 degrees C. here and cloudy on the Costa Brava ( Near Aiguablava ) ..

Chilly 17 degrees ..

However, our tourists are happy it is not raining or snowing as most of Spain is receiving heavy winds and rain storms ..

Hope you are all well and having a lovely long weekend .. :wave :wave

Gill: My chicken Makhani is a Brit Tikka Masala, really.

Lots of butter, mind. Marinade the chicken in yoghurt, garlic, cumin, ginger, chile powder and salt. At least 3 hours. Then grill the blighter just to ensure it´s dead. I´ve got this magic solid iron grill pan which sears the outside ( and leaves nifty little burn marks) while leaving the inside still uncooked.Set the part-grilled chicken aside for a moment. ( Both sides are grilled but I don´t cook the chicken completely; the idea is to finish it off in the sauce).
The sauce is fried onion, garlic, chile and ginger - cooked until soft. Then , 1,2,3 - 1 tsp turmeric, 2 tsps cumin, 3 tsps coriander powder. Stir-fry add tomatoes and a bit of water and cook until the tomatoes are soft. Then I whack the whole lot into a blender until it´s smooth. Return the sauce to the pan. When it cools, I add a carton of yoghurt. Not strawberry; just straightforward natural, 100% fat yoghurt. Stir it in, then begin to reheat the sauce and add the chicken - which you leave as is, or ( if you´re using chicken breast, which I always do) slice on the bias. I like the presentation of the slices of chicken, with little dark grill marks, and the smooth sauce underneath.

Member 461, please take comfort with your 17C!! It is only 5C here and rising to 8C later in the day! I am pleased that your tourists are happy and as you say, it is not snowing or raining! I long for some warmer weather.

KK, your Brit Tikka Masala sounds wonderful!

I'm having a quiet weekend in and might just bake some bread.

Have a happy Easter everyone!

Ha! You've just reminded me that I forgot about the rolls I've got proving!

Maybe try that Babka later, or if I 'm not feeling adventurous some more not cross buns.

Highlight of the day for me will be watching local hero Anthony Joshua in his latest scrap. His sister still works at the chippy down the road from here...

I live in a cocoon, Sakkers. He's a boxer, right, I've just googled.

Clive, I've got a Le C. griddle, the traditional orange coloured one, had it for years so it's nicely non stick - unlike most Le C iron pans.

Thanks for the details.
I've always got natural yoghurt in. Full fat. I have it on my porridge flakes for breakfast.
Or my frootie smoothies.

I'm sure he has other talents Gill

Splutter!
He wears the apron, literally. He does all the cleaning, washing and ironing.
He's an absolute marvel, as he likes anything that means he is active. Vacuuming - who on earth enjoys vacuuming?!

Hi Gillthepainter

Below is a link to the recipes and images of the chocolate kind. There is also a dried fruit version, which must be similar to panettone.

I hope the photos help!

I got some chocolate earlier, but couldn't face 6 and 3/4 hours of preparation, so went the not cross bun route :-(

Oh well, one for Late Ron.

I see you went for the full cross, Stokey...

I suppose for a secular one I could go for a CND logo...

Speaking of which, look at the state of Felicity Whatsit's "perfect" hot cross cross!!!! Looks like a seagull accident...

Oh good one Sakkers! :D

Lovely hot cross buns Sue!

Gill, I've got one of those LeC's griddles, but mine is royal blue. I haven't used it all that much, to be honest.

Enjoy your lovely weather, Member 461. The tourists will be very happy with the sunshine!

Sue, they look marvellous. You could post piccies more often, you're good at it.

Thanks for the link, Stricters. Like panetonne-ish, I know what it is now.
Pretty too.
Talking of not chocolate - I've bought a jar of nutella. Why I do not know, I've only ever bought one jar before in my life.
I may as well spread it directly onto my thighs.

I love those Mercedes crosses, Sakkarin.
They're expertly consistent too - handshake from Paul Hollywood quality.

I don't use my griddle much, Renee. Sets the smoke alarm off if I don't shut the door.
I've used it on the bbq before. And it cleans up with no harm done.
I'm not sure my knock off Aldi ironware would.

Have a good Sunday everyone.

Felicity whatshethinking.
Her crosses are terrible yes. But I do like the unhealthy amount of butter she puts on her buns.
